Due to an August 2016 Microsoft Office update, opening Excel files that are downloaded from Quality Metrics may be blocked from opening properly. Please follow the steps in our workaround document to open these Excel files.
Excel Export
As of August 2016, Microsoft implemented an update that results in a gray or blank screen when a user attempts to open an exported Excel file from Quality Metrics and many other websites. The following strategy is a workaround:
Download the Excel file you are exporting
Open the Excel file and you will not see any data
Close the Excel file
From the location of the Excel file (e.g. probably your downloads folder), right click on the file and then click "Properties"
Towards the bottom of the dialog box, click "Unblock"
Click "Apply" and then click "Okay"
Double click to open the Excel file again
Click "Yes" when the security dialog box appears and then your Excel file should open with the data visible
