Trends-Home Health State
Overview
The Home Health Trend Report includes measures that are publicly reported on Care Compare. The following analyses display each of the quality measures and compares the provider rates to other benchmark rates. Colored labels indicate whether the measure is OASIS-based, Claims-based, whether it is used in the Home Health Quality Reporting Program (QRP), Home Health Value Based Purchasing (VBP), whether a lower rate is better, if the measure is used in the Quality of Patient Care Star Rating, etc..
CAHPS
Patient Survey Star Ratings are based on Home Health Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HHCAHPS) survey responses on 4 of the experience of care measures. Star ratings are only displayed for home health agencies that submit at least 40 completed home health patient surveys in the reporting period. This data is updated quarterly.

Quality of Patient Care Star Rating
The Quality of Patient Care Star Rating is based on 7 of the Quality Measures currently posted on Care Compare. Measures are based on both OASIS assessment data and Medicare claims data. HHAs must have data for at least 20 complete quality episodes for each measure to be reported on Care Compare. To have a Quality of Patient Care Star Rating, HHAs must have reported data for 5 of the 7 measures used in the Quality of Patient Care Star Ratings calculation. This data is updated quarterly.

Quality Measures
CMS publishes data on 18 different quality measures on Care Compare. The following time series analyses displays each of the quality measures and compares the provider rates to their service area, state, and national rates. Colored labels indicate whether the measure is MDS-based or claims-based, whether it is used in the Home Health Quality Reporting Program (QRP), whether used in the Home Health Value Based Purchasing (HVP), whether a lower rate is better, and if the measure is used in the Quality Star ratings.
